Odors

Scents… they are everywhere. In the home, the school or even in the workplace, they are always present. They can either be pleasant or unpleasant. The terms “scent”, “fragrance” and “aroma are used to describe odors coming from food and cosmetics like perfume. While the words, “stench”, “reek”, “malodor” and “stink” connote a negative or an unpleasant kind of smell. We use our sense of olfaction to smell these aromas. As humans, we all emit a scent of our own. That is how we are sometimes remembered by our pets. Sometimes, smelling a certain scent can bring back memories from a time in our lives and this is why odors are very powerful.

Humidity

When you own a house, you logically do everything to maintain and protect it. Some houses even have insurances just to ensure the safety of their homes. But there is one thing that is more often than not taken for granted. It is the weather – more specifically, humidity. Humidity can damage one’s house and also the things inside it. Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air. Anything in your house that can be destroyed by soaking it in water can also be destroyed if exposed to high levels of humidity. The only difference is that, the destruction would be a slow one. You can easily see the effects of humidity in wood. You might notice times when your doors do not fit their frames perfectly anymore. You find yourself smashing them a little bit just to close them tightly shut. Not only does it do damage to your furniture. Humidity also promotes the growth of mold and mildew and fungi and bacteria making it harder for you to clean your kitchens and bathrooms. These growths can trigger allergies and asthma attacks. So it is always best to monitor and control how much humidity comes inside the house.

Smoke

As we all know, smoke, whether first-hand or second-hand, is bad. It can really have adverse effect on one’s health. When you go out on a date in a little fancy restaurant, you might notice some of them separating their bistro into two – the smoking and the non-smoking area. The funny thing about it is that, they are just both located on the same room. The smoke coming from the smoking area can also be smelled all the way through the non-smoking part of the room. But there is one solution to that problem. You can use the Vertical Discharge Utility Fan
